Feminism or Arrogance?

Image
E veryone, male or female, is born with unique potential (discovered or not). This truism, by implication, means that everyone is relevant. That Ngozi is a woman doesn't make her potential insignificant.  These phenomena gave birth to the concept of FEMINISM            Feminism is a collective movement aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, and social rights for women..this idea was born to give equal representation to both genders (men and women).it is aimed at bringing women to the spotlight. Feminist activists, especially in the west, campaigned for women's rights such as rights to own property, and vote_ while promoting bodily integrity. Feminists have worked to protect women and girls from domestic violence, sexual assault, and sexual harassment. They have also advocated for workplace right such as maternity leave and fought against any form of discrimination against women at pl...

Divorce in Nigeria:why the increase?

As at 2015,Americans have the highest divorce rate of over 50% in the world.sadly, there's no available statistics on the rate of divorce in Nigeria but the court's record show it is on the increase.I mean, who can even dispute that? We all have one or two people we know that are divorced or planning to.The surprising look of files in tribunals can't be overemphasized. You can't help but wonder if the country wants to go on marriage strike..I therefore ask,why divorce?               The truth is, breakups and separation have become so easy.Relationships and marriages hardly work this days..What we have now are just couples cohabiting, growing apart and finally separating..Someone is married today and divorced tomorrow!! And I ask again, why divorce?                As ugly as the country looks now,I don't think we need or want to handle not ju...

Arewa youths to FG: Lift ban on land border importation.       In reaction to the Federal Government's decision concerning closing borders against importation in the country, members of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF),Seme,Badagry,Lagos State chapter have urged the Federal Government to reconsider the decision. Reasons given that, complete closure would be more counter-productive than the partial closure. The earlier partial closure, according to them, has had devastating effects on the economy of those plying legitimate trade across the border, regretting that, “it left many Nigerians jobless when they should have been allowed to continue their legitimate businesses and paying duties legally.” This call was contained in a statement signed by the Forum Chairman, Mallam Adamu Sambo, where he stated that, the closure has encouraged illegal businesses across the border to the extent that the country is not only losing huge revenue but also heading towa...
